Designing a unique sports e-commerce in Spain for team-sport fans

2010 - 2011

Megastore

What's this about?

The client aspired to create the most important online sports store in Spain, having in mind that the brand was related to one of the biggest sport newspaper in Spain, with the possibility of integrating a wide range of products, with a great diversity of sports, brands and models, a private purchase club and a new tool to configure equipment.

It was very important to follow the claim of the project: "We have everything and if we don't have it we will get it for you", to create an interface that would give confidence to the user and open their eyes to the great variety of possibilities offered by this e-commerce.

My role

I was hired as a Freelance UX Designer by an agency.

What I learned in this project

Despite this project was carried out in 2010 and 2011, it was one of my first projects as a freelance where I collaborated with an agency, learning how to develop a project of this magnitude and how to manage it.  Besides, it was a complete project, starting from the conceptualization with several workshops to the final design.

Considering the scope of this project, the first stage of the work consisted in carrying out some innovation sessions with the client with special emphasis on the definition of personas (carrying out surveys and benchmarking) to create user profiles and assign consumer habits to them.

The next step was to create an innovative graphic line with a horizontal structure that would set us apart from the rest of the competitors and would allow the brand to take advantage of the strength of the images available, as well as the products and brands on sale.
